Welcome to the Horse & Groom at Tunstead
The Horse & Groom Public House at Tunstead is a traditional, dog friendly village Pub serving real Ales and homemade meals.
In rural Norfolk but close to the stunning Norfolk Broads and nearby villages of Wroxham, Coltishall and North Walsham, we serve a selection of real Ales - either on tap or bottled and also have a 'Guest' beer available from our local East Anglian suppliers such as 'Lacons', 'Woodfordes', 'Adnams' and Barsham.
We serve beautifully prepared homemade food everyday (not Sunday evenings), with a regularly changing menu depending on seasonal availability. Where possible we use produce from local producers including 'Tacons of Rollesby' and the Landladys garden just a few minutes from the pub!
With a warm and friendly welcome you can be sure of a good time here in North Norfolk be it as a visitor to the beautiful Norfolk Broads or joining us for a special celebration.
Our pub is first recorded as a drinking house back in 1790 with William Hewitt as the very first landlord. By 1841 the pub was known as the 'Wilkes Head' eventually becoming the Horse & Groom, the name has been reinstated by current owner Gilly Foulds after a period as The Olive Branch
Tunstead is a relatively small village, yet as with many Norfolk villages our church St Marys is very large in comparison. Built around the 14th century is it well worth a visit. Nearby are the with the well known villages of Wroxham (home of the worlds largest village store..Roys) and Hoveton nestling on the nearby Broads.
A dog walkers haven abounds with everything from a few minute wander to a more lengthy pursuits.
